Chamomile is a good oil for the beginning of summer.  It's analgesic and sedative propeties make it gentle & calming.  Many herbal tea preparations for sleeplessness have chamomile as a main ingredient.

Recipe for a Relaxing Bath

  • 2 drops cedar
  • 2 drops chamomile
  • 2 drops geranium
  • 1 drop lemon
  • 2 ounces hazelnut oil or milk
  • Mix the essential oils into the oil or milk.  Use the hazelnut oil if your skin is suffering from residual effects of a long, cold, windy winter.  Use the milk for soothing relief from your early summer activities.  Pour this into a warm tub and relax.

Burn & Itchy Skin Remedy

  • 3 drops chamomile
  • 3 drops peppermint
  • tablespoon hand cream or carrier oil
  • mix together and apply to the burn or bite often
